How Many Boxes Do I Need?
Rough box counts by home size, so you don't under- or over-order.
As a starting estimate:
- Studio/1-bed: 15-25 boxes
- 2-bedroom: 25-40 boxes
- 3-bedroom house: 40-60 boxes
- 4+ bedroom house: 60-100+ boxes
These numbers assume a mix of small boxes (books, kitchenware) and larger ones (linen, clothing). Add extra for wardrobe boxes if you have a lot of hanging clothing, and don't forget wrapping paper or bubble wrap for fragile kitchen and decor items.
Many moving companies sell or rent boxes as part of their packing service, which can save you a separate trip.
